It feels like every day the Kings get a proposition like this:

Give us picks, we give you a struggling goaltender with less than .850 SV% so far and paid more than any goaltender currently on your roster.

In no way would the Flyers ever accept that lol. You guys wants Bedard for Pinto yet Frost put up more points and is only worth a 3rd pairing defenseman?

Wouldn’t mind getting Brannstrom for something else, also would love Zadorov at that price. Feel he can command a decent chunk of change

Kings have no interest in Ottawa's overpaid backup goaltender. Retain 50% and still no.

Not sure I'd target Frost with Brannstrom. Value is fine but not certain

Since 21 y/o in 2020-21 :

Brannstrom : 164 GP 4 G 41 A 45 Pts, 0.27 PPG
Frost : 144 GP 24 G 38 A 62 Pts, 0.43 PPG

Brannstrom's defensive metrics are much more interesting. I'd trade Brannstrom for a young 2-way winger or someone who has shown a better 2-way game than Frost, the difference in production is not enough to give me certainty. But in the end, it depends on the Sens scouting report on Frost.

Don't base yourself on the current stats, Korpisalo has been lights out this season and is rocking a 0.901 SV%. The team has been putrid defensively (which is not uncharacteristic of a DJ Smith's team). Forsberg has been quite good in general during his time in Ottawa. He was near Vezina Level in 2021-22, that SV % and GSAA with that system/defense was quite the accomplishment

That said, not 100% sure I'd be ready to trade him, depends on Sogaard who is still very young and has one more waivers exemption season

Yep, he's two years removed and put up last season similar numbers (.902) to Cam Talbot (.901) and Phoenix Copley (.903). I understand that the small sample size is an issue, but Copley has only played 3 games and has a 0.788 SV% this season. Do you think the Kings could get a 6th and 3rd based on his previous seasons experience, or does how a goalie is currently playing a factor into their price of acquisition?

2 years removed is quickly said... Only ONE season and 10 games have been played since, last game was on Apr 29th 2022, which is 18 months ago.

I don't disagree, Kings might not need him due to the solid overall game they play so they don't have a problem until they have a problem. If Copley can't figure it out, then they might go after a goalie but probably not now. Forsberg is not for trade this season anyway, I would definitely NOT trade him for a 3rd + 6th. Copley has no value, he has not proven anything in this league yet and probably never will as he's even older than Forsberg

Oh and this ACGM was for NEXT season

Edit : small note but Forsberg has NOT played badly, Senators are literally GIFTING goals on a silver platter.

I think injury issue and not showing he is back 100% actually hurts the asking price. For LA, I think its highly unlikely, Kings are getting 0.923SV% out of Cam Talbot at almost a 3rd of the price, it's highly unlikely the Kings would pay assets when similar goaltending % can be found in the free agency next season. They'll keep with the budget guys until they can find their goalie of the future, which might be already there in Portillo.

Yeah I don't know much about the LA's situation/context. I was basically just quoting your post to tell you to not base yourself on the current stats to evaluate Sens goalies. It has been the same story since DJ Smith has been the coach of this team (except Forsberg in 2021-22, which is why his season was so impressive). You could bring anybody and it would most likely end up with the same results. Look at Talbot, for example.

And Forsberg has not shown any sign of being impacted by injuries, he has been quite solid in preseason, and even now... just nothing he can do in this mess. Dorion and DJ needed to be fired in 2020-21 but context kept them until now (rebuild, Melnyk, his death, the sale, etc)
