Description

Woodcroft should already be unemployed but after this disaster of a season ends, Jackson will certainly have his work cut out for him. I want Gerard Gallant in and it should be ASAP.

Buying out Campbell is a must and Kulak also should be dumped or bought out. The idea of trading Leon is not my first choice and most trade ideas involving him do nothing for us. I would do this trade and I think it’s important that IF he were dealt he goes somewhere that he would extend. I’m sure the Rangers could extend him with a couple moves to make room. The goal here is to build a team that can play the length of the rink. We haven’t had that and now we are further from it than we ever have been.

Rangers shouldn’t do that due to the fact that they’ll have to replace Kakko, Schneider and Othmann on the roster next year

Quality depth is more important than adding another super star

There really is no solution other than EDM trading Draisaitl to actually get good depth and fix their D/goaltending. McDavid and Drai can only carry this team so far.

Like? It doesn’t benefit us to take back a lot of cap.

Unfortunately I think I’ve come to the point where I agree. The problem is who is going to give us what we need? I see a lot of Buffalo proposals popping up but they are a similar team to us. Unless they’re offering up Dahlin or Power (and they won’t) I can’t see a deal that helps us.

Hawks decline. Two years at that cap hit takes a 2nd to move to the Hawks. See the Jason Dickinson trade.

I think the Hawks decline.

Kulak doesn’t really present an upgrade over any of the current Hawks veteran D core and I wouldn’t want to bump young guys from the lineup who need the experience. You could argue Kulak is better then Tinordi but he doesn’t bring as much toughness or willingness to drop the gloves as Tinordi. At the end of the day I think the Hawks can find a better veteran free agent d-man for the $2.75m Kulak is being paid for the remainder of this season and two more.

I also don't think he would waive for Buffalo - a few teams who could make pushes that have the cap space/assets/might make sense: Boston/NYR probably make the most sense. Maybe a team like NJD or NYI could make a push for him (a lot of NTCs though).
