I wouldn’t be mad
Of course, I’d rather swap Mitts & Cozens in the trade though

Matthew Tkachuk is not going to a cold place that cares about hockey.

The Senators are not trading their captain for a quantity package (or under any circumstances any time soon)

Quantity doesn't equal quality both trades are quantity over quality.
Mathew Tkachuk isn't waiving anywhere in the people's republic of New York instead of sunny freedom loving South Florida.

Both trades have Quantity over quality? Usually you only say that if the quantity is garbage, not like the Matt tkachuk trade. That trade includes:
Cozens (who the athletic ranked as the 6th best u23 player/prospect heading into the season), Kulich (who is averaging near a goal a game as an 19 yo in the AHL), Peterka (who looks to be breaking out, pacing for 35 goals and 60 points, building on an elite WC), as well as 2 firsts. That is a package of both quantity and quality, and I wouldn’t want the Sabres to give it up for Tkachuk

I will say the Florida trade is fairer than the Ottawa one, as I also added little to no chance Mathew waives to live in the people's republic of New York.

Sens can't afford to do this.

They would need to come up with a statement that they are retooling/rebuilding but this isn't a good timing obviously
