Yeah, but they're not. The Pens already let Dumoulin walk so they could upgrade. He no longer fit the Pens' system. They didn't want to pay him $3M+ to remain in their top-four, so they're certainly not in a financial position to pay a $3M+ for this year and next for him to play the 3rd pair.

They move Carter's bad contract to just add one year of another bad contract? Not reasonable. The Pens pass easily. Dumoulin makes this team worse. The Pens are doing great on the LHD side. Shea has been awesome for us and it a fraction of the price.

Not to mention, as much as I'd love for him to be traded, Carter isn't going anywhere. I know foolish Pens fans on here like to think it will happen, but it won't and it just keeps making fans of other teams think it will happen.

Interesting idea but the Avs really don't have the cap space going forward (even with retention) unless Landy is done so for that reason I think they decline.

I would take Gourde over RyJo, if there was a way to move him as part of this. But the Kraken should not be moving on from him.
