Jeff Carter might finish his career in PHI, so maybe he waives his NTC HOWEVER, Philly isnt taking that cap hit for a 5th round prospect. And then trading spots with you in the 5th. A cap dump of 3mil for an older guy with 0 pts in 10 games is probably a 2nd with PHI giving up nothing.

Rackell is signed long term, but its looking real bad right now. Hes 30 yrs old, signed for another 5 yrs at 5mil and just 3 assists in 13 games, playing with Malkin and/or Crosby? Thats probably a no.

And two waiver wire/journey men NHLers and a 24 yr old dman whos lost his job after 1 yr to a 26 yr old rookie doesn;t scream value, it screams quantity. To be faiur, it depends what you think of Garland, but its pretty meh

Flames block your number. That Rakell contract has trade value similar to Kadri's

That’s the thing teams are gonna end up trading players this year and we are gonna look at these trades and do the same thing you just did with my idea and it’s gonna blow our minds on why some trades even happened and or that’s all it took to acquire that guy. So my idea is beyond ridiculous I understand that but it’s not far off from what’s really gonna happen.

Not sure how much of a sour taste is left in Carter's mouth almost a decade later, but taking on cap, downgrading in the 5th round only to receive a former 5th rounder playing in the ECHL in DY+2 isn't exactly enticing. Would rather have the contract spot over Belliveau.
