I think Hanifin is a much more practical target for the Blues. Not sure exactly where the need is for Lindholm currently. There's almost no route to being able to re-sign him without moving a body out that currently has trade protection and that's not really easy to do.

1. I think his contract is going to be inflated by the couple of seasons playing with Geadreau and Tkachuk
2. He's another pass first guy, we have quite a few of those
3. His money that he would garner with an extension would take up cap that we couldn't use to find a 1LD if one became available.

No, we're not trading our best defensive RhD for an LhD who is known more for offense than defense, especially when we already have Mikey Anderson and Vladi Gavrikov on that side, and Andreas Englund has been a fine third pairing d-man at the price we can afford for one. And the difference between Hanifin and Roy isn't more than Pinelli.
