Retaining 3.25 mil for 7 years is brutal. Ottawa definitely says yes imo, Boucher and JBD both have effectively zero value and Pinto and Batheron with a few picks is well worth it for Drai (assuming he plans on extending as part of the deal)

LA im sure considers it but that is a lot to give up for anybody. In the end it is McDavid so maybe yes, but again theyd need to know McDavid plans on staying more than the 3 seasons

LA's defense and offense is set, they are going to hunt their goaltender and try to distance themselves in point from the Oilers as much as possible. Every Pacific Division team in the hunt for a playoff spot will not involve themselves in any trade with the Oilers.

Edmonton can have Batherson + JBD + Boucher + Boston's 1st + the 2025 2nd for Draisaitl.

McDavid and Draisaitl are untradeable for reasons already discussed. They will play their entire careers in Edmonton or walk as UFAs a la John Tavares. Oilers fans should hope it's the former.
