Pretty easy decline by the Habs. Kovy’s giving them good minutes as a big RHD on a fantastic contract. None of the pieces coming back do anything for Montreal; another old fourth liner, a nothing pick; and a former first round pick who still can’t crack the nhl in his D+4 season who’ll just get buried on our depth chart of middle to bottom six prospects

Islanders are gonna be staying away from more contracts with term at this point since we are so bad. Cannot have 10 guys on 5+ year deals

Greer deal is fine but not sure what it's solving. Don't think PIT or MTL should want the Kovacevic deal. Not sure why NYI would want another guy who has 4 points this season on a long term deal when they already have that in Lee. Probably better to just offer them picks and prospects for Pageau

Pens can't take Pageau without Isles taking cap back. Pageau only has 5 points and very similar contract to Rakell so i think the thought is basically swapping two guys having sow seasons.

Even if the Isles were interested in that trade, I don't see any reason why they'd need to add Wahlstrom. JGP and Rackell both are having down years, but Rackell has four years of term after this year to JGP's two. If anything, the Pens should be adding more than a 3rd to get out from those last two years of Rackell.

Eh. idk about that. Rakell and JGP to me is a clean 1:1. If anything i'd think Isle's owe a little more.

JGP is a year older than Rakell (sure Rakell has 2 more years on contract)
rakell has played 14 more games than JGP but has 120 more pts... i know that's past, and there are obviously things for the future outlook on both teams, but Rakell is the better player.
