Morgan Frost, for whatever reason, I've stated before, seems to get a bad rap from John Tortorella. Former 1st round pick, small, yes, not a Jack McBain type of player, but could still help the Coyotes center position... from the previous trade, AZ has Toronto's 1st, and places conditions on the 1st they give to Philadelphia, whether it is top 10, top 15, top 8, whatever, then it becomes 2025 blah blah blah. Coyotes still have a ridiculous amount of picks in the top 2 rounds the next few years. So overall for AZ:

In:
L/R Tyler Bertuzzi
C Morgan Frost
D Timothy Liljegren
C Fraser Minten
2024 1st Round Pick (Tor)

Out:
L/R Jason Zucker
C Jack McBain
D Victor Soderstrom
2024 1st Round Pick (Ari)

Ari when healthy:

Moser - Dumba
Valimaki - Durzi
Stecher - Liljegren

Keller - Hayton - Schmaltz
Maccelli - Cooley - Crouse
Bertuzzi - Frost - Kerfoot
Carcone - Bjugstad - O'Brien

Much like the last trade offer with Toronto this alters the future growth plan. I don't know what will become of that 2024 1st round pick but I would rather allow one of the best amateur scouting teams in the league a chance of turning the pick into gold instead of settling for silver with a Frost trade.

This scouting and drafting team are making very good choices. The worst pick they have made so far is Ilya Fedotov who put up 14 points in 40 games in the KHL as a 19 year old. That is still pretty good. Many wrote off the Lamoureux pick as a poor choice and suddenly the kid is looking like the second coming of Zdeno Chara, I will take that ALL day long.

Really like Frost, and hope he turns it around --but with his injury woes and the fact he hasn't solidified a spot at this level, I'd be hesitant to deal anything like what Philly fans (perhaps rightly) would want for him. Can't blame it all on Torts, as he was pretty lackluster his rookie season before Torts got there.

It'd be fun to reunite him with Hayton, but I wouldn't pay a premium to do it.

Slim to none Frost warrants a conditional 1st. Arizona’s 2nd Rd pick (or the Flyers’ right to choose which 2nd Arizona owns) is still asking a lot.

Given the alleged ask Briere set for Scott Laughton at last season's deadline, a mere 2nd round pick for the young Frost, still with potential, feels kinda light for Briere to accept!
