3pts in 16 games makes me wanna say no. If Ottawa believes he still has top 6 offensive potential while maintaining his defensive play, then I’d consider it

For some unknown reason, Kakko has 0 confidence and never drives to the net

Didn’t he have a really good shot back in Finland? What happened?

He does have a decent shot but no one knows because he literally never shoots. He works out with Rantanen in the off-season a lot

Kakko is just stuck in this weird point where he doesn’t know what to do with the puck. He overthinks about his decision with the puck then it leads to a turnover

I would rather move a pick for him personally but I kinda want him. Because at worse , he’s still very good defensively and could be a solid defensive 3rd line winger. At best he could maybe turn into a top 6 guy

I’d do a 2nd with Boucher. The rangers wanted Boucher at the draft too lol

Sens really don't have a reason to do this, Kakko would obviously be fun to take a flier on, but Pinto is such a known quantity and after they've properly stuck by him through the whole suspension debacle, and will now be able to sign him for cheaper than expected as a result, there's really no incentive for the Sens to move on from him. I still think a team (maybe even the Sens!) would do well to give Kakko a shot in a new environment though

I like Kakko and think there's some untapped potential, but Pinto's 35 P in 82 GP in his rookie season beats all but 1 year of Kakko's 5 year career so far. Pinto also offers upside too, so it's not like he's a final product and the Sens are moving to get younger. If I had to pick one of them right now to win a game, I'm going with Shane, especially because he's a center. I don't think the Rags need to add but it's just not a match with these assets.

Basically, it seems like a gamble that's not worth taking. We can check with Pinto on the odds.

teams are not going to trade good assets for a player who is essentially 4th line player who had 1 good year out of 5, if this was Kappo 2nd year and not his 5th then maybe a 2nd and a minor prospect.
