As a fan of both Edmonton and Calgary I've cooked up plenty of trades between the two teams and the number one thing you're going to hear is "rivals don't trade".

Which is crazy because Edmonton still has dead cap from a Calgary trade.

I think there's a trade to be made between the two, Edmontons desperate for D and goaltending and Calgary has some of the best D on the market and Vladar.

I think Ekholm would have to go to Calgary with Ceci and Kulak. Calgary sends its 3 UFAs at 50% retained with Vladar.

Edmonton throws in some futures and hopefully keeps enough to get Saros. Getting anything but a real #1 goaltender is a waste of time.

Change the 5th to a 2nd and Chicago might consider it

Gee, that’s an interesting idea. Ekholm could be used as a great first round pick for Cgy to flip at the deadline and is easily a first. If Edm Gives a first, two seconds, and prospects… i could see it working. That would be game changing for Edm’s D.

Calgary takes Edm 2026 1st, with Ekholm on the books for another 3 yrs, along with Andersson and Markstrom, push the idea of a tear down until then.

Stop spending assets stupidly for a few years and take a good look at what we are in 2 seasons.

That's why I said might. I don't see them using both slots in 1 trade either way
