Not a trade I personally am a fan of, and I will tell you why. Allen is not the goaltender we should be going after, absolutely a waste of cap. Matheson is a LHD, and we need a RHD. I do not want to try one of Nurse, Matheson, or Ekholm on the right side too, so that makes our defence worse in my opinion. Kovecevic is nothing more than a third pair defender which we have plenty of as well. Evans is a good peice, but we don’t have 1.7M to throw at him. I wouldn’t mind a trade if it included Savard (50%), Montembeault, Evans for Campbell and multiple pieces if Campbell would waive, but either than that, I wouldn’t do a trade with Montreal, especially not one with Bouchard in it.

The problem is Edmonton will gonna have only 14M in their cap space for the next season without any resining.

Ok but in the 1st season after the buyout Campbell's cap hit goes from $5M to $1.1M. They almost $4M in savings.
