I'd be surprised if Arizona moved Ingram this year. He's been the better of both goalies for the Yotes and Arizona has said they're moving towards contending. His team-friendly cap hit and term probably keeps them from moving him. I'd say its more likely they look to move Vejmelka if they consider moving either goalie.

Fair take.

I've always been a fan of Vejmelka but he's seem to struggle this year especially numbers wise, does the eye test back that up?

Unfortunately haven't been able to catch most of Vejmelka's starts. From the bit I have seen, seems like it's more the fault of defense but I haven't seen enough to know for sure.

The numbers don't paint a full picture. There have been a LOT of defensive end turnovers this year that have led to goals, seems to happen more on Veji starts instead of Ingram starts. Cooley (rookie move) seems to toss a pizza up the middle of the ice every other game, and fancy breakout passes have been intercepted quite a bit from the top 2 lines. Seems to happen more when Veji is in net, team seems to trust him to make the save when they do bonehead stuff, he has been beat on these shots. Hard to set and catch a shot when it develops less than 50' from the net at speed. His numbers have suffered a lot from the shenanigans.

Ingram has been the better goalie. Ingram newly signed to a 3 year deal with a cheap cap hit. Coyotes moving to contending absolutely. It would cost at least a first round pick to even consider moving Ingram at this time. He has played really well. Vejmelka has played his worst hockey this year in a coyotes jersey. He does not look calm and composed out there. Ingram has had more goal support in his starts this season than Vejmelka, but Vejmelka has been pulled twice this season in two of his starts. Vejmelka is always over sliding, seems to play a way too aggressive and not in control game. His confidence is not there. Ingram seems to always be in position and the Coyotes play much more freely with Ingram in net knowing he will make a save. I think the 50/50 goalie rotation has been a negative this year. am glad Ingram is getting the start tomorrow vs Tampa Bay with this being the first time a goalie will play two games in a row. Anyways, long story short, Ingram has been better than Vejmelka and is a cheaper contract. Would cost a lot.

Go Yotes baby

I think depending on the market and how ingram sustains his play till the deadline, I could be convinced to give a 1st, not anything more than that without the history of production tho, for Ingram.
Vejmelka I think a 3rd or 4th would be reasonable based on what the goaltending market is.

Or even some kind of Vanacek/Vejmelka swap to get both guys a change of scenery would be reasonable, with the devils adding something to account for the cap difference

I don't think the Coyotes would sell low on Vejmelka right now. His value was much higher last season and we did not sell. Even though a swap like you mentioned could be interesting.

I think a first for Ingram would be fair with not much more attached. Just a couple years ago he was in the players assistance program and this time last year put on waivers by Nashville. He has turned his career around (who many do in Arizona) but the success record is short, interesting for sure.

Ingram is an interesting one because it's a big gamble for both sides. If ingram keeps up this current level of play for the next 3 years AZ looks like idiots for giving him up. But he's just as likely to turn into a pumpkin and then AZ looks like geniuses for getting assets for a waiver claim goalie after a brief period of good play

Oh totally. The good thing for the Coyotes is that they finally have drafted of what looks like an elite goalie. Drafted Michael Hrabal 38th overall this past draft. Coyotes have time to make a decision on Ingram/Vejmelka situation and we finally have a promising goaltender in our pipeline, but Hrabal will take a few years at the earliest. Prosvetov did not turn into the guy who we thought he was in Tucson.
