I could see Toronto being interested in that offer for Noel...

Find some retention from a 3rd team...

Everyone on the Sharks is for the right price. That trade isn't the right price.

Maybe for a 1st plus. But even then, how often does a late first turn into a player line Zetterlund. Like 30-50% of the time?
Makes more sense to keep Zetterlund, he's only improving.

And this return doesn't come remotely close

I think packaging him in a trade next season makes more sense.

I feel like we made a commitment to him, especially since he was one of the key returns in the Meier trade, but yes I guess you are right. Personally, I would want a pretty big overpay if I was to let go of him

Why? Hes a very good player whos very young. You'll spend 20 years rebuilding if you keep trading off young talent for futures that may or may not hit

He's a 3rd liner playing increased minutes because of injuries.

I'm not saying he's not talented or can't contribute. I just don't see him in the picture when we're competitive again.

He's been their best winger consistently this season. He's exactly what you want in you're middle six/second line. Again, you sell them off for futures, you'll be lucky to get equivalent talent.
He's absolutely a piece for the future.

I guess I'm looking at the bird eye of the entire season this year. Small piece of gold in a lump of crap.
