The only thing keeping Anderson from having a worse contract than Jack Campbell is the scarcity of available goaltender positions. There are only 64 NHL jobs for NHL goaltenders, whereas there are 128 positions Anderson might be viable at (bottom-six winger). Why is Edmonton giving up two pieces with some actual tangible value while receiving spare parts? Primeau isn't an upgrade on Pickard and I doubt he would be any better than Rodrigue. Lindstrom is at best a lateral move from Desharnais.

Edmonton passes.

Yeah , not true
One's an NHL player with NHL Minutes
The other is an AHL with as bad of numbers as in the NHL

Anderson is a Pole Smoker this year, ill give you that
But all jokes aside i'd rather have him then most players we'd get for him.
Maybe Andersons overpaid by a lot but he's still worth an NHL contract
Campbell never will be again

It costs Edmonton nothing in assets to buy Campbell out in the summer.

MTL Passes
The pieces given up dont fit our timeline and cluster **** our AHL
Holloway and a 1st to take Campbell without Anderson with Allen/Armia in his place
They dump term with 6m vs 7.25m short term

Otherwise Campbell stays put and we're happy to have Anderson.
We're not in Cap hell like EDM ,we're rebuilding
We have no need to do them favors on their terms
Andersons Contract will be gone by the time we compete along with Price's and Gally's
Its not an issue for us

But a lot in Trust via UFA's who consider EDM
But you're right you could take a 2-3m hit short term and 1-2m hit long term
Its not like EDM is cash strapped lol

You aren't making any sense. Why would a UFA want to come to Edmonton if they were committing more time and energy to a guy who, as you've stated, can't even hang at the AHL level.

Hockey players don't need to be handled with kids gloves. Goaltending especially is very much a "what have you done for me lately" business. These guys are trying to compete for a championship. Buying a guy out because he can't perform to even 16% of what his contract is worth isn't going to dissuade UFAs from signing in Edmonton. Edmonton being where it is geographically is far more detrimental to any signings.

You'd think
Alzner proved it to be false
We couldnt sign anyone for years after that **** show
With Toffoli being the first to really give us a chance followed by Perry
We moved Toffoli after he signed a sweetheart deal and wanted to be here
But since we screwed him over its become again harder to find UFA's willing to talk to us.

Maybe EDM is immune to it
Maybe reality doesnt apply to those in Alberta, i dont know.
But i do know the Eliiotte Friedman wouldnt shut the **** up about it

Do you want this Buyout money in EDM or do you want MTL to buy him out and have an NHLer Winger?

Montreal isn't offering an NHL winger in this deal.

Ouf... That is clearly just trolling, think a little about Anderson Level and Campbell level and then comment the post. I am not saying Anderson his a 1st liner here, but he clearly his a NHL winger xd

Fine. Numbers then. I'll do Anderson a favour and sort by relative stats to take away the noise from playing on a rebuilding team.

He ranks 447th in CF%Rel.
442nd in FF%Rel.
449th in SF%Rel.
351st in GF%Rel.
447th in xGF%Rel.
421st in SCF%rel.
435th in HDCF%Rel.
371st in HDGF%Rel.

There are 416 NHL forward jobs in the NHL, assuming each team carries 13 forwards. Anderson qualifies as an NHL option in TWO of the eight categories I've listed. I don't care about his intangibles like hitting or leadership: you can get guys on league minimum that do more than Anderson does every summer.

Block him
Dude told me Campbell and Anderson are equals even though 1 has and can re-sign a NHL deal in the future
The other playing like he is wont get another NHL deal and likely not an AHL deal either with his play

He finds a Narrative and twists the world to fit it.
He clear on his prospects value pretty Accurately
But other teams people , not even close really.
