Hence why the Leafs are receiving a 3rd. The 1st and Bourgault are for Novak.

Then Novak better come with extension.

And leave Samsonov out of the deal altogether. Oilers goaltending problems aren’t solved by a guy who couldn’t solve the Leaf’s goaltending problems.

Samsonov was really good last season. Goalies are so unpredictable, I don't think he's just a complete write off because he's been bad in 10 games to start the season. He needs a change of scenery and I think Edmonton could be a good spot for him.

You are right goalies can be voodoo. I totally beleive in that. But Stuart Skinner is now sporting a .930+ save percentage since the Oilers finallly fixed their D issues with the coaching change. Best in the League in that time frame I would guess. There’s just no urgency to spend on a goalie anymore.

He's on an expiring deal. The Wings aren't exactly "helping" the Leafs with anything.
