Keep in mind I’m a Pens fan saying what I’m about to say.

Bad move on Buffalo part. If I'm Buffalo in this deal, I’m not moving one of my top stars for another top star. They’re a rising team and adding a steady experienced consistent goal scorer like Guentzel would be one of the pieces to help push them into that next level. So swapping top end forwards would not benefit Buffalo in anyway. Also keeping in mind Pittsburgh is a struggling team right now. No point in paying high to a team that isn’t competitive in the standings.

BEST I would do if I’m Buffalo is 1st Rounder, Olofsson, & a decent to good prospect. Anything more and I’m damaging my team when we’re right on the verge of breaking through into being a serious competitor. There’s no way Pittsburgh takes that return at this point as they are dead set on trying to get it together and chase the cup one more time. So all around there’s too many roadblocks for Buffalo to land Guentzel.

PIT absolutely does this in a heartbeat....

Wrong package to CGY; and BUF never moves Tuch in this kind of deal as noted already.

But A+ for trying!
