Why would a team with Walman Petry, Edvinsson, Wallinder, Chiarot, Holl, Ghost, Seider, Maata trade for another dman?

I don't know how to put conditions on picks but I think Calgary could get a 1st if Hanifin resigns longterm with Det otherwise it would probably be a 2nd and a prospect

well more likely one or two would come the other way but Hanifin is a bonified 2-3 D-man that would make detroits D a top 5 core in the league it would be pricey but with the way there going I would not be suprised if they kick the tires at Hanifin and Lindholm.

Detroit does not need to clog their depth chart anymore... That's the whole reason why Vancouver was able to acquire Hronek last year for literally picks alone...

He was behind Seider, but a head of everyone else. This doesn't help them at all, this is a homer calgary trade for sure.

While I agree the value is pretty fair for Hanafin as it sits.

I'd love hanafin but Yzerman has overpaid a variety of blah defenseman so I don't see how they afford to keep him around considering the rfas we need to resign.
