The Oilers are almost definitely going to better utilize or keep those assets, and simply buyout Campbell in the off-season.

Oilers decline.
They’re not willing to trade their draft picks.

a campbell buyout would be terrible. They need that cap space.

I would be surprised if they make it to the playoff despite their embarrassment from the beginning of the season.

yes, it clearly does, They upgrade from Mcleod to Dickinson who is playing amazingly and has 14 pts right now on a terrible Hawks team. Mrazek will end up playing better than Skinner and be the starter. and they gained almost 3.5 million to spend on other pieces for the run. They also gain lots of cap space for the next 4 seasons.

This is still just a lot to give for a dump. I'm all for juicing the deal with Dickinson and Mrazek. I just don't think we'll end up getting too much more than the (2) 2nds. Take out McLeod and Dickinson...seems simpler then.

Here is reality.

It will cost a 1st to move Campbell…cool.

In what universe is that package worth a 1st/Lavoie/McLeod/4th?

Dickinson is a 4th liner that has matched his career high in goals already. Shooting 25% when you a career 9% shooter will do that. Not sustainable. Will revert back to who he really is.

Katchouk is a spare part.

Mrazek is a meh goalie with a weird career. Long streaks, when he’s on he’s unbeatable when he’s off he’s unusable. He’s been off far more than on in his career. When he’s at his normal level which is rare, he’s a high end backup.

Collectively they are not worth a 1st.

Take the 1st for Cambell if they are willing.

The rest…they can get much better value elsewhere for 1st/Lavoie/McLeod/4th.
