Lafferty out for 5th Reaves in for a minus 11

Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 11, 2023
Published: Dec. 11, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Really starting to realise Treliving is worse then Dubas.
Threw Lafferty away for a 5th and he has 15 points now.
Signed the most useless NHL player to a 3 year deal at 1.35 M for 2 fights he sucked in so far and a minus 11.
Then the entire NHL and every TML said do NOT sign Klingberg and not only did they but for over 4M for a POS minus 7 !
Gave Bertuzzi a NMC at 5.5 and he is the worst player out of everyone they signed.
We are screwed, they need to clear the entire front office starting with Shanahan and start over.
We should never signed Klingberg to more then Schenn wanted morons.
We should never have let McCann go on waivers.

Not a leafs fan so I do not really watch them play but like you are 14-6-4 and 7-1-2 in your last 10 lol

I would do some things I am not proud of to see my team do that

Lafferty is contributing on offense because he is being utilized properly, something that Keefe was never going to do. Treliving is still untangling the mess Dubas left while trying to maintain a somewhat competitive team. Relax and let him cook. It is way too soon to say anything like that.

haha. True. "Somewhat" was an unnecessary addition to that sentence. The point is, he iced a competitive team without committing to anything that puts them in a worse position in the long term. He kept the long term in mind, knowing that Matthews, Nylander, and Marners contracts were all coming up.

I mean, Treliving has been pretty awful but I do love that you think Bertuzzi was the worst signing and the dude's been legit very good. Also Lol at McCann on waivers, dude he was the expansion draft loss.
Also that schenn contract is so hilariously terrible, dude is a 6th defender

Maybe. But if Keefe kept utilizing him in the same way, TOR would still be in the same boat with Lafferty, trying to offload him for whatever they can get. That was the market on him at the time.

I'm a CHI fan. So, I'm right there with you. The TOR fan base is passionate, to say the least.

lafferty is contributing because he's shooting like 23%. I mean, good for him and all, but he's still a low end 3rd liner at best.

Doesn't change the fact that Keefe never utilized him properly.

eh, Keefe stinks but Lafferty was used the way he should have been with that roster and he did a good job at it. He'd still be there doing that if treliving wasnt dumb as hell in bringing in reaves

I didn't watch a ton of TOR after he was traded from CHI, but what I did see, he was pretty unnoticeable and was getting bare minimum ice time. But, if you liked him, then I thats a win for Lafferty. I'm just glad Treliving didn't commit to anything long term. Reaves was a dumb signing. But it is easily remedied in both the short and the long term, and if nothing else he is a good locker room guy.

Geta grip Man. Lafferty is on the Canucks top line and has 8 goals and 7 assists in 28 games. On pace for 20+ goals and 21 assists, and your idea is to trade him for Reaves?

KnIes ,Domi and Jarnkrok have more points then Bertuzzi and Robertson is close in half the games.
Sorry but Bertuzzi needs to wake the F up he is a hot mess out there just running all over yet doing nothing.

I am just being dramatic about the bad trades our GMs made not actual trades get a grip and read please.
Or in case of Chycrun a player we were linked to then OTT got him.

Ya Keefe is the worst coach in the NHL he played Lafferty only on 4th line even though I was saying his speed and size and hitting should move him up then they trade him for a 5th to get Reaves the useless tool.

I wouldn't call him the worst coach in the NHL. But, over the years, TOR's rosters have definitely been better than the results we've seen from them under his coaching.
