Description
Boqvist returns to the lineup Wednesday night...

This is how I would roll the lines, but we know Monty probably won't give Poitras a shot between Pasta and Debrusk

Hope he gets a goal Wednesday night. I was surprised he didn't make the team over Lauko and Brown, maybe Poitras making the team made him the odd man out.

However, I am surprised that Merkulov didn't get the call. 9 points in his last 5 games, playing a well rounded 2-way game. Maybe they wanted more of a 4th liner where Merk would benefit from being in the top 6. Either way, I don't think it's a great message to guys in the system to pass him over.

Yeah I can understand the thought process of Boqvist > Merk for this call-up... probably wanted a vet presence with Poitras, Beecher, and Lohrei playing time and managing their minutes. I am just relieved they called up Boqvist instead of Brown. Fourth line has some serious speed and forecheck ability with Lauko, Beecher, and Boqvist.

Merk/Lysell are going to get their time in the NHL - ideally would like to get them a few games this season, but I think they will both be full-time NHL players next season. Both have great potential.

Merk has been playing exclusively C for Providence, since we have Geekie to slide over to center maybe they just wanted a guy that's been on the wing in the AHL.

What's the title for? And why would Boqvist go in for Steen?

Boqvist seems to be a fan favorite in NJ from his time with the Devils

IMO you try out Boqvist in the lineup because he is a more proven player and can fit anywhere in the lineup and Steen hasn't impressed me all that much in the lineup. Beecher and Lauko consistently bring energy, but Steen/Brown seemed inconsistent and at times disappeared on the right side of the 4th line.

Disagree with your assessment of Steen, he's consistently trying to make plays and create offense on that 4th line although I wouldn't be surprised to see Boqvist tomorrow.
