So for starters let's just ignore the fact that mason's playing bad this year and will most likely be worse next year and that his contract is double McLeods, what makes edmonton even remotely interested

Ignoring Manson blocking the trade (and EDM is possibly the only Canadian club he'd consider with his old man coaching there), Edmonton probably declines though McLeod would be a nice fit on the Avs.

My bad. I missed that. In that case he almost certainly blocks it. On a pure value side of things (if we ignore the NTC for sh*ts and giggles) I'd say the 2nd probably swaps sides on the trade to cover the cap difference to give EDM any kind of interest (and of course that would be a '26 2nd), as I'm pretty sure EDM fans on here have been saying the Oilers need another RHD?
