IF the Blues go this far and I mean IF, they’d try for the 2024 first instead. I doubt it goes this far though

He's not. And that "offer" should be embarrassing.

Most likely outcome is he bounces back in a couple of weeks and this is all water under the bridge.

The comment he made wasn’t smart. But it’s not like it was pointed intentionally or directed at anyone that’s within the organization.

If Jordan Kyrou becomes available I’d be willing to bet almost half of the league would be heavily involved in trying to get him.

I’m not trying to work down a package here. But there would have to be a fairly substantial piece

I clearly know that's what will gonna happen for him. Just wait few weeks before thinking of a trade.

There would probably be a fair bit of intrigue around the league but a lot of teams would also be a little weary of that contract. There might be an offer that would beat something like this but this is a pretty damn good offer. I think most offers would be some variation of similar value.

Kyrou is solid but debrincat is probably a pretty fair comparable.

It might seem like a good offer out of context and maybe some other team in a hard rebuild would consider it, but this package would be of precious little interest to the Blues. A deferred 1st with protection, a deferred 2nd, a 3rd, an 8-ishM cap dump who's forgotten how to do everything but win draws that the Blues have no place for and who would basically eat up the value of that 1st, and maaaybe a B+ prospect is not even remotely a tempting offer for a locked down PPG 25 yo that is finally rounding out his game (even if he's in a shooting slump). You have not even addressed their primary need or given away a truly prime asset.

Any GM who agreed to that would be fired. From a cannon.

Weary of the contract? What team would be weary of a locked in first line winger who seemingly has more to offer at 8m per year when the cap is starting to increase again?

This is not a supplemental player. This is a player you add to your core. There’s an odd stigma in regards to long term contracts. In 2-3 years everyone is going to want these longer term contracts that were signed while the cap was flat.

Weary of the players defensive abilities and ability to grow his game sure I can understand. But you will barely be able to sign a 2nd line player at this cap hit given the forecasted cap growth in the next 2-3 years.

The offer is good, you just never approve of any trade on this site
