Initial Creation Date: Dec. 15, 2023
Published: Dec. 15, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No Idea how this would work with the cap space but I'd love a guy like Tuch on the Canucks. Maybe takes a few more assets than this but is arguably a better package than what Detroit got for Debrincat. Tuch is a completely different player but you get a A prospect, another solid prospect in Podz and a decent pick.

They won't trade Tuch. He is too valuable as a hometown kid for them to move him.

Tuch isn't available for anything reasonable. As a forward, he's defensively aware, and physical, and last year he was over a point per game and potted 36 goals- all things that we need a lot more of. If there's a good forward on the Sabres that might shake free, it's mittelstadt. Also, nobody is gonna waste a retention spot for 3 years, not to mention that tuchs contract is an absolute steal.

Buffalo accepting or rejecting is a moot point when the Canucks can't do this trade, to begin with. They have to be able to accommodate the cap hit of Soucy once he's back from LTIR and this would put them in an awful cap situation. The Canucks would have to clear out salary and it doesn't make any sense for Tuch to join the Miller-Boeser line anyway when Hoglander is proving to be an effective top-six guy.

Agreed then would have to give away Kuzmenko or pay to get rid of Garland which I don't think Allvin wants to do. Plus yeah Tuch is a no go. All the guys we'd want from Buffalo are either no goes (Thompson, Cozens, Tuch, Power), or not that costly (I could see Canucks interested in the offseason wanting possibly Krebs or Jokijaru)

Its amazing to me that these sorts of proposals aren't properly thought through. This makes ZERO sense. 1. Canucks are one of the highest scoring teams in the league. 2. Canucks are in need of RHD puck mover. 3. Canucks have very little CAP space so moving prospects makes no sense. 4. Canucks are trying to build a prospect pool for long term competitiveness.
