      A late first is around what I figure Mony will return but I’ve said this before, Hugo will not use their last retention spot on the most reasonable cap hit they’ll possibly be looking to move out.

      Agreed.

      The trade proposal here is very fair; and in his scenario, the NYRangers still have 2m+ in cap space, so they can take on Monahan's full salary - not high. A 1st for Monahan's full salary is what it will cost for a team who would draft after the 28th rank.

      The 5th is truly not that important...

      At the TDL you don’t know where the pick will be tho
      28th + means the NYR goes into the ECF

      Yeah. I've been wondering the same thing about Perry. Although, if what he did was egregious enough to get his contract terminated, I doubt other teams want much to do with him right now. Then again most teams just care about winning. So, I'm sure if he is able to be signed some team will do it.
