A lot of these trades don’t make sense for the other team, but that sharks trade especially doesn’t make sense for the caps. We don’t need players who are further away from making an NHL impact. Leonard could join the team THIS SPRING when his season is over. Demidov and Iginla could be 1.5-2 years out from being NHL players realistically. Hold Leonard, he will be the future of this team.

Maybe. Dowd + SM = 2nd + 3rd. Maybe take out Broberg but Capitals are also taking Cap back. This trade makes Oilers current roster better imo.

“Lmao” makes you look immature AF like an arrogant child. Penguin fan? Maybe you are mad you blew the future just to still be an awful team? Either way be better

Demidov is a Michkov 1b level player Miro and Demidov top line wingers then Iginla and Cristall would make a fantastic 2nd line wingers. Capitals need to look more towards the future considering Ovechkin looks washed and the core is old AF.

Lol I get it. Gotta imagine they would be willing to trade a lot to get Leonard right?

Sharks decline.

Don't get me wrong, Leonard looks brilliant but the Sharks are most likely picking somewhere in the top-5 this draft. Why send away picks in the 10-12 and 32-36 range when you can get a similar player by just keeping your own pick?

Maybe take out the 2nd? In a redraft I imagine Leonard would go higher. He looks as good as Smith atm. Hes the better goal scorer. You’d be assuming that in this upcoming draft you’d find a comparable player. I like Demidov and that’s the only reason I would do it.

Don't see the Canes paying that for Darcy with the numbers he's been putting up. The cap hit and term probably aren't worth it for him.
I would think the Sharks just keep their picks. Leonard would be great but they could get an equivalent player with that pick. Doesn't seem to make sense for the Caps either since Leonard will be on the roster before those picks will be.
Don't see why Edmonton would entertain that roster. Dowd is the only player that would be useful to them. Losing Foegele would hurt them more than adding Milano and Edmundson would benefit. Maybe Dowd for a mid-late pick but that's all.
Good luck moving Kuzy, not really sure what his value is at, even at 50%.
I think you have the pick going the wrong way in that Detroit trade? Don't see why we would pay a third for a guy who hasn't played and only played 5 games last year. Not to mention been plagued with injuries the years prior. You want us to take his contract, it's not free and definitely not paying for it.
TVR sure.
Don't know if you get a 4th for a getting depth defenseman, don't know much about him though.
Not getting that high of a pick for NAK, fringe player at this point of his career.

I see your point, but I think this would still be worth it for the Sharks. Leonard looks like a sure bet to be top 6 forward. He has the toughness the Sharks need. He has chemistry with Smith, and was a steal at #7 overall. I read that the Sharks were even considering taking him over Smith with the #4 pick. Leonard is a safer bet to have an impact than any future pick higher than #10 overall. This seems like an overpay for him, but even at this price somr Caps fans decline.

That’s fair. He’s suppose to be playing in a week. I was assuming he was going to put up sold numbers

I strongly disagree.

Like I said, Leonard looks good, but there's no reason to suspect someone of similar potential will not be available in the top-5 this year. Not to mention the fact the Sharks will have good lottery odds so it's possible that the pick is at #1 or #2. Plus we're giving up another first in the 10-12 range AND a high second? Lets say the Sharks pick at #4 and the Penguins end up at #12.

You're willing to trade Helenius/Levshunov, Zayne Parekh, and someone like Liam Greentree for Leonard straight up? And remember, that first pick could be at #1.
