Actually your trade for Borgen might be a little light from Leafs side. But as rule, the Leaf trades on CF, widely overpay for middling Dmen....just guys that aren't difference makers. 95% of TDL deals don't help the buyers.

This guy really doesn't know what he's talking about and tries to shoot down any Leafs fan who looks to improve our team from without, don't even humour him. Truth is, you put together a trade that is fair value for a player who would address our needs and greatly benefit our roster, well done for that. As for his statement that he's a middling player from a non-playoff team, Borgen actually played in the top 4 during last year's playoffs for a Krakken team that shutdown one of the best offensive teams in the league in the Avs, then reigning champs.

Even still, this year has been considered his breakout season, one in which he's been doing fantastic while bringing all the attributes we'd want in a partner for Rielly. What Palhal should keep in mind is that the Krakken were in their 2nd year as a franchise when they beat the Avs in round 1, and did not have Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, Rielly, etc. in their lineup.

By his logic, Kucherov, Crosby, Tage Thompson, Rasmus Dahlin, Roman Josi, Kirill Kaprizov, McDavid, Drasisatl, Jack Hughes, Bedard etc. must be bums because they're currently playing on teams that are outside the playoff picture. Nobody tell him that teams ice a roster of 12 forwards, 6 D and 2 goalies most nights!

Change the sens side of the trade from a 2nd to Domanik Kubalik with no retention and it's possible.

Sens can't absorb $2.5M in salary, has to be dollars in = dollars out.

Well thank you and much appreciated. There is a few on here that go on every post and saying the same thing. 100% agree with this. People are unhappy in their own lives and are able to take it out on people in this site because they don’t have to do it face to face. I’m aware of that and take it with a grain of salt. We all try to keep values close and to make sense but most of time people are arguing over opinions. Either way, at least there are a few good ones on here. Ty👍

Didn’t realize you guys were that tight. Isn’t Chabot or one of the D on LTIR? I thought they had space from that? But unfortunately I’m trying to relieve the 2.5M to pick up defence. Appreciate tossing Kubalik in there though. Lol👍

Chabot is on LTIR, but he's coming back. It's only temporary. They're going to have to trade someone already when Pinto comes off suspension, they had to play with 19 skaters first game of the season to be eligible for emergency call up next game.
