I would rather keep Timmins also. So remove Timmins from that trade.

I assume Leafs will waive Sammy. I don't think Jones will clear waivers this time around but I suspect Sammy will. So we still keep our goalie depth and make the cap work.

But I do like the Larsson trade Idea.

I offered 1st + 3rd + Sammy for Larsson and Daccord earlier today. You gave up a touch more here though.

Sammy aint going anywhere lets be real and with how Daccord is playing SEA would be stupid to move him

Timmins is the viable choice as he dont got a spot come next year anyway and fills in the hole Larsson and Schultz will leave once they traded. As its probs gonna be Larsson, Liligren, and Hakinpaa or something.

Like I get what people are saying about Sammy but hes gone through this before and rebounded.

Timmins is offering something the Leafs sorely need and that's someone who can move the puck out of their zone. We have very few guys capable of that these days

I’d personally as a Leafs fan rather see Lily in that deal over Timmins but good value. Sherwood could be a nice pick up too

Liligren is a capable puck mover and in general moving the puck out is the last of their worries.

What they need is a capable top defensive 4 RD thats Larsson. Timmins going is of little concern due to Niemela's emergence.

Thats a nice playoff Dcore. Sure would explore also adding Seeler but rn good enough. As lets be real Timmins wont be part of the playoff Dcore he wasnt last year

Liligren is better defensively and younger would rather keep him in the third pair

Timmins has a very specific role and thats really pp2. 5 on 5 that guys not been that over the top and often his mistakes in his own zone are becoming more apparent

Timmins is much better breakout pass than Lily. He does make mistakes at time because of the chances he takes but Timmins has been getting better in his own end and making good plays with the puck. I think his ceiling is higher than Lily IMO

Lets be honest Timmins ceiling is 3rd pair PP offensive Dman. Hes not a top 4 guy and really shouldnt be with his playstyle

Liligren's ceiling is 2nd pair 2-way with the right partner. We saw it last year at times and this year before the injury he and McCabe were going the right direction. Since coming back hes looked pretty good just needs to get settled.

Timmins is a good passer but the mistakes in his own end make him an issue at times. He also is not a guy you can rely on for defense just passing and offense. Liligren going back to last years version will make up for losing Timmins as that guy provided that 2-way game we loved. As he was a solid passer, had a good shot, and played well at both ends.

Plus with Niemela's emergence Timmins be expendable rn
