Agreed. At the very least I would attach another more promising prospect that’s a few years out like Akey but Montreal doesn’t really need another young defensive prospect. They have a pretty solid pool of those already. I could see an Oliver Rodrigue involved in this deal. Good goalie prospect but that wouldn’t benefit Edmonton since Skinner is looking shakey this year. They’re gonna want to keep Rodrigue unless is involved in a deal for a long term high quality starter. Another 1s as mokumboi pointed out could work. It’ll at least get the conversation started. Because Campbell buyout is gonna be at least 6 years and if I had to guess 1.5M. It won’t affect them this off season or next but it’ll absolutely hit then hard when it comes time to sign those promising young stars to their big boy contracts.

While Edmonton gm have say that he would be ok sending broberg with Campbell to try add value why would Montreal accept another Defense prospect one that have not proven anything and could risk no develop well in the end ?


Montreal will probably have an problem of to many good defenseman next season and would need to trade one so why add another one ?? An forward prospect would probably fit more for the team benefits.
