I think Weegar would be a perfect add. I assume Sammy would just be included in that deal to make the cap work. I don't see Sammy being claimed off of waivers.

Don't know why Calgary would need a fourth goalie, also doubt he has much value right now.

Sammy would be for cap reasons only. Calgary doesn't need him. It's just part of what would need to happen to get the trade across the line. They can send him to the AHL.

Not enough for Weegar. Abruzzese doesn't add much value for the Flames given their depth of young forwards. What boils down to Niemela and a 1st won't get you a top pair defenceman on a good contract.

If they were to trade Weegar now that his value is peaking as you say, that offer for sure wouldn't get it done, I mean imagine what other teams would likely offer.

Perhaps. You'll likely never get his full value in return, but get something nice for him while you can.
