How to fix samsonov

Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 30, 2023
Published: Dec. 30, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Instead of hating on him everywhere on Social Media cheer for him. If you are at A leafs game and you have seen this post cheer and chant his name. Give him a standing ovation, scream his name every time he makes a great save like what we did for Soup. He is not doing bad he just has a case of the yips. If we do what the Phillies did in baseball for Trea Turner i'm 100% certain he will turn it around

He is a good goalie but I don't know if he'll turn it around in Tor.

I applaud your attempt to support him but Tor is a harsh place for NHL players. Like NY for baseball. I don't know if they will support him like Philly did (though that was also a surprise to me).

Just when I looked at the post game interviews last night it looked like he was having an anxiety attack and was ready to drop on the floor and curl into a ball. I just feel horrible for him. I even started to hear booing which is just horrible

He gave up 6 goals on 21 shots to the 5th worst team in the league, shoulda had 2 of those for sure, maybe 3.

Before that he gave up 5 goals on 14 shots to the 6th worst team in the league.

Before that he again gave up 6 goals on 35 shots to the same 5th worst team in the league.

It’s not even just the amount of goals he gives up, it’s the quality and the timing of them. It’s just awful and it’s not what a championship contending team can have if they’re serious about competing. I understand you’re logic of supporting him and trying to encourage him because it’s purely a mental issue and not a physical or technical with him - but at what point do you say “hey we just need saves” and hold the player accountable? He’s a pro athlete, he signed up for this. If he doesn’t like the pressure of the NHL then go back to the KHL.

I agree with him going back to the KHL but maybe for a season and then he can return if he is better. I really hope he returns to his former self

Some can handle Toronto, others can’t. Samsonov reminds me of Andersen at the end. Lost puppy. Can’t shake it. Need to waive him asap.

I applaud this post. Easy for everyone to crap on guys not playing well(I’m just as guilty) but this is their livelihood. To be boo’d and constantly criticized for something you have been working in your whole life must be hard. If he gets the net again, it’s definitely worth trying over booing. I just don’t see management giving him another start. At this point it’s unfair to the other 20 guys playing their a$$ off.
But nice to you trying to spread some positivity in a very negative environment. 👍

Unfortunately there isn't time to wait for him. Send him down and hope lesser competition can get him settled in net. Then maybe he can come back and make a difference.
