3 reasons Wings say NO.

Reimer is not great but has been better than Campbell, makes less and is signed only for this year. Campbell's numbers have not greatly improved in the AHL.
Campbell has 3 years remaining at 5 million, so that is a big reason.
Broberg is not what most believed he would become and Wings have several good LHD prospects in AHL with better trajectories(Evidsson & Wallender).

So there is zero incentive to make this deal, from a Wings perspective.

So the Wings are taking Campbell's brutal contract for Broberg? I think it's going to cost more than that to get rid of Campbell to a team that isn't in full rebuild like Detroit. Broberg might be enough to get Campbell to San Jose?

Gonna cost more than a disappointing defensemen and a 5th to dump a bottom-5 contract.

you realize jack has 3 yrs left after this one at 5 mil per.and hes the backup on the oil farm team,dont you.
