Well this is assuming he maintains pace. Pretty typical for guys around this production level to bridge for around 3% of the cap. Could possibly get a 3rd year. I guess he’s not arbitration eligible though so we could probably just qualify him.

If Leafs want to add a veteran with size and offensive ability then I think Matheson is the only guy we can fit, given our current cap situation. Guys like Hanifin and Skjei just make a bad situation worse.

You really think that's a fair offer for Colton Sissons? I know he's not someone a lot of people have on their radar, but we're talking about a ten year NHL vet. He is only 30 years old, right shot center, reliable in the faceoff circle, kills penalties, can work on the powerplay, is on a career points pace at just over .5 ppg, can play up and down the lineup, and is locked up for two more years after this season at less than 3 mil. Not to mention what he means to the locker room. Colton Sissons would cost more than any team would pay for him cause he means more to the team that he's on as a glue guy and it's probably got to be a 1st+ to get him away from there

Yeah one small problem matheson is not nearly as good as Muzzin is, and minten is a top prospect not a throw in. I wouldnt trade either piece for matheson let alone both for him. He’s not that good and definitely not what this team needs.
