something around kuzmenko for Giroux would be fun too but I would guess Mr. Giroux would love an avs trade if it was on the table

I don't really want Giroux around the Avs. His off ice activities havent changed since his teens and you're not gonna win a cup with him influencing the young guys to go to the rippers the night before an elimination playoff game.

No way the sens do this Giroux is their home town signing that is still providing decent for decent value. After this yet another tire fire year, they will once again want to complete for playoffs. Not downgrade next year for more picks.

I mean I don't necessarily disagree, but if Giroux want to go to a contender then I think you kind of owe it to him. There would be cap space and assets for the sens to go out and get another player to move into his top 6 role if that was the case imo

Giroux didn't want to come to the Avs a few years ago (or at least wanted to stay on the east coast) but maybe now he'd be open to it. As for the price, the Avs would be pretty reluctant to part with O'Conner; he's one of their best bottom six forwards and PKers. I think if the Avs were to make a deal for Giroux, they would probably offer the 2026 1st, Sean Behrens, RyJo and some lesser prospect. Also, Giroux's current deal fits the Avs cap situation well. If he asks for a trade, the Avs would be a good destination.

Its was well documented for his outings in Florida. Not a friend, wouldn't talk like that about a friend but I do have some inside knowledge. Doubt he can lift his face off the mirror for a full playoff run. Worst part is he is a very generous person, and others will follow.

If Giroux asked to be traded for a better chance to win. Yes that does suck for the sens, and this trade is then a good return for the sens.

Goes to show the conundrum facing Staios. The players will want to contend shortly, and right now looking nothing close to contending.

I think I kind of would want a usable roster piece coming back who can contribute would be my thing. RyJo is a whatever piece for me, throw him in to match salaries and he can skate around for a year. I would throw Crookshank in if you wouldn't want to lose the bottom 6 production. Hes probably not as refined as O'connor right now but I think he has pretty obvious third line/b6 potential; he is just a bit log-jammed with the sens at LW. Might lose out a bit in the short-term which I guess would be the sticking point for the avs, but he could be good now in that situation, and I think will be good down the line.

Yeah I mean, if the young guys want to compete then thats on them. Put in the effort and grow into a competitor.

If Giroux wants to leave I think hes earned that
