Monahan is a first round pick with a 3rd round pick.
Savard is a late 1st round pick or a early 2nd round pick. If you don't want to pay the price, we keep them.

The pens trade is fine, provided subsequent moves were made. That Montreal trade is terrible. A first and a recent first round pick is too high of a price for a forward who doesn’t fit Colorado's playing style at all (too slow) and a 6th defenceman.

Olausson was Colorados 1st round pick from 2 years ago. So the OP paid the price. Maybe remove the 3rd going to Colorado and 1 4th going to Montreal.

But he basically paid your price to a T.

except Olausson isn't living up to his draft position nearly enough to warrant his worth at a 1st. Habs should send Lias Andersson the other way, seeing as he was picked 7th OA. Their AHL stats are actually quite comparable.

Olausson just turned 21.
Andersson is 25.

I agree with you that Olausson's stock would have dropped a bit. But at worse, he would be viewed as a 2nd round pick at the moment. Which was the low end price the person mentioned for Savard.

All to say this is a very very reasonable package for Savard and Monahan.

The first trade isn't the worst for Colorado if they're going hunting a 2C. The second trade is bad for Colorado.
