the avs cannot afford to resign Lindholm, nor will they give up the 2023 first rounder, plus another one for him

Avs can't afford to re-sign Lindholm so they don't make the trade.

That’s a no from COL. I don’t know if it was true or not(probably not) but saw that some insider thought the price for Lindholm would be a 1st and a lesser prospect or a high end prospect and lesser pick.

The Athletic posted an article saying that.

From a Flames perspective, the value is right for all the players except Tanev. The best pick we’re getting for him is a first, and likely only Toronto is paying that.

Got a link? I’m curious to investigate that. I think a lot of fans see someone with a press credential speculating and run with it as fact. Makes for a fun time on Capfriendly lol

I'm not paying a 1st and a 3rd for a 1 year rental and a dude in his 30's. This is how DUBAS screwed the leafs. We traded the farm for players and LOST ALL OF THEM.

Find a way to make the cap work, and Dallas likely accepts. Not the true right shot that they would want, but it gives Miro a long term partner to play next to:

Hanifin-Heiskanen
Bichsel-Harley
Lindell-(2024 UFA signing)

actually looks like a pretty decent blue line.

Tanev costs - 1st and 3rd

hannifin cost - 1st and prospect?

so leafs could get hanifin if they give a first and robertson with an extension?

What you think is right and what is actually right are often not the same. COL has a history of not trading 1st rd picks, much less top prospects and 1st rd picks. CGY might find that it is a buyers market, but somebody always panics that’s why guys like Chiarot fetch a 1st.

I think it’s more likely that the Flames get a first-round pick and a lesser prospect, or a higher-quality prospect and a lower draft pick. Of course, the asking price changes depending on if Lindholm’s contract can be extended.
