If NYR are willing to trade an important defenseman,
then i don’t see how they say no

But they’d also have to figure out some sort of replacement for Miller
I think the Leafs would have to include McCabe in the deal,
and maybe get back a 1st instead of a 2nd or an additional pick or some other upgrade coming Toronto’s way

Interesting idea
But it’s tough to see this happening
I gotta think they could’ve traded Nylander for something like this as well, so making this trade would essentially be them choosing Nylander over Marner- and that doesn’t make much sense to me

Unfortunately it seems like people are going to come away with the wrong impressions from today's trade. Trading away Drysdale is a lesson in strength and weakness asset management, not "hey players the last guy drafted gave me a bit of a headache so let's just blow them out the door."

Zegras isn't getting traded, and even if an offer PVB couldn't refuse came along, I can guarantee it won't be for a late 1st, a random 3rd, a tweener forward, and bottom pairing D-man.

Marner has out performed Willie every year. Marner's best 3 seasons in assists beats Nylander's total points in every season but 2. 37 games of production way above his previous output has people keeping him over Marner. Not to mention Marner's 2-way game and PK time. Just foolishness.

I’m not a Leafs fan, so i don’t watch them every night like u guys do…. but as a Sabres fan I’ve seen them both quite a bit, and i think Marner is easily the better player of the 2

I would be open to including McCabe for sure in the trade. And instead of a 2nd for the rangers it's a first. I think Willy signing actually makes it more possible they're not going to resign Marner.
