Nothing in that San Jose deal is worthy of a 1st round pick.

Also with the emergence of Benoit I don't think Seelers is needed. Earlier this year, I thought we needed 1 top 4 guy and 1 physical bottom/depth guy. Benoit has solved the 2nd one. So I think we only need 1 top 4 guy. Preferably RD.

that sharks trade is so bad for the leafs. Blackwood is awful and Barbanov is a middling 4th liner. Why on earth would the leafs give up a 1st and a decent goalie prospect for that? And no, Reaves getting dumped is not worth anything close to that since they can just bury him for a 200k cap hit

Philly is already carrying one goalie with a $3.85 million cap hit buried in the AHL. Why on Earth would they want Ilya Samsonov?

Blackwood is much better than the numbers say, sharks D is just bad and zero offense means most teams are playing 65-70% of the game in our zone and most games it’s like we’re playing on the PK the entire game or most of it.
And Barbi had a rough start to this season but is playing better and had 47 points last year in 68 games! That’s a good middle 6 not a 4th liner.

I agree this isn’t the trade you guys make but don’t bash on these guys to justify your point.
