Nashville will make playoffs if Seattle or Arizona doesn’t jump them. So i don’t see them selling

Robertson is a nice piece, but not one Nashville would be super interested in because they're well set up on LD for the foreseeable future. Novak is gonna cost around a first and Nyquist retained for two years would be more. It's not enough for both and Nash would pass

Did you see them get throttled by the Ducks last night for the 2nd time at home this season? It won't be a major selloff, but selling is more likely than buying.

NSH declines. The way I'm seeing this is Novak for a 1st, and Nyquist for prospect + 2nd. 2 things kill this deal for NSH.

1. The retention on Nyquist absolutely makes this not worth for NSH, as they only have one spot left, and I'd rather not have that retention on the books through the rest his contract unless the return is really worth it. 2. Robertson is not the prospect I'd want in return for this. NSH already has a massive stockpile of defenseman who are just waiting to be called up, on both right and left sides. NSH is looking to likely move on from defenseman rather than bring more in. NSH is going to look for a forward as part of that return, and I'd lean toward center or LW. I wouldn't ask for Perreault, as much as I'd love to have him, but I'd be looking at someone like Othmann instead.

Would eliminating the retention therefore eliminate the need for a Prospect to be included?

In my mind it would. Given how good Nyquist has been this year, I may ask for another pick like 4th or 5th round, but that would be good for me.
