He has 5 years left on an absolute steal of a contract. They miss the playoffs, who cares? They have like $27m in injuries right now, including their starting goalie, half their top 4 D, and their star winger. Guerin should be fired on the spot if he makes a trade of a long term key piece of the roster off them not making the playoffs. JEEK will still be around and in his prime when the dead cap drops off and some of their prospects start to show what they are.

Kuzmenko + Willander + Raty + 1st MIGHT be enough to get Minnesota thinking and that is too much for van to be giving up.

As a blues fan I'd love for Minny to make this trade. But JEE is on a steal of a contract for a very good defensive player who just had a 60 point season and I think is getting better offensively. It'll probably take your 2 best prospects as a starting point for them to even consider trading him

Price for JEE might be a tad high but certainly like the player. Dont think the Canucks have the interest in moving those assets though, at least not at this point. I like JEE but think Canucks will be shopping in the discount isle. Perhaps Adam Henrique might be a better temp fit? A good center. Responsible. UFA at the end of this year. Older/experienced. Might be just a rental? Perhaps offer Jurmo straight up or another good prospect. Woo?
