Absolutely no way do you send Kochetkov back down after that trade. He's singlehandedly keeping them in the race for 1st.

Raanta gets moved or sent down again, or you make another move to clear cap (like DeAngelo).

I think you're misinterpreting the post, he just got injured last night. If you look at the roster I placed him on IR, not buried in the minors.

You get a prospect putting up respectable KHL numbers as well as the 4th. Goalie returns usually aren't super high in trades so anything more than a 3rd straight up or a 4th+ for a 1B goalie on an expiring contract is likely what you can expect a return to be.

I respectfully disagree about a C-tier (maybe) prospect and a 4th being enough for the Sharks to want to move on from Kahkonnen. I just don't think 15 pts in 42 games is really all that exciting for a small 24 year old winger in the KHL.

The real stickler here is the retention slot. Its the Sharks only one and they are going to want to use it in a deal that creates more value for them than this, or on a player who's untradeable without it (Lebanc/Hoffman).

You're right, I didn't read that properly. My mistake. At least it's just that he's in protocol right now, and just means he'll be out for a few games at most.
