I am perplexed by what Verbeek is going to do next season with RHD. DeMelo seems like a smart pickup, even if we have to give him a foligno type overpay, if he can still play top 4 minutes and take PK1, he'll be fine. Seems obvious we take a RHD at the top of the draft this year.
I would argue that Gauthier will be on the top line with Carlsson, at which point Killorn is probably their running mate. I just keep reverting to that line combination. If we bought Reinhart, he would bump Killorn.
At which point, do you make line 2 the TMZ line, or keep the great chemistry that V-M-S line has shown? If we bought Reinhart, would he then play LW for a Killorn-Zegras-Terry line?
I am firmly entrenched in my belief that we can have a monster top 9 with Reinhart, but in my opinion that looks like
Gauthier-Carlsson-Reinhart
Killorn-Zegras-Terry
Vatrano-McTavish-Strome
Puts a puck digger, a sniper, and a play maker on each line, there should be enough 2 way game on those lines to not completely hemorrhage points, and should be able to sustain huge amounts of O zone pressure.
If we don't run Z at C, I imagine we don't buy Reinhart, and out top 9 looks like
Gauthier-Carlsson-Killorn
Zegras-McTavish-Terry
Vatrano-Lundestrom-Strome
Or if we but Reinhart, we have to sell one of Vatrano or Strome, as I can't see us relegating any of them to the 4th line.
