Horrible for CGY considering he isn't available and we can easily get a 1st or 2 if we trade him, not this

You think Andersson is worth a former 5th overall pick, 60 point d man, 2nd line winger prospect and 2 2nd rounders?

yeah the 2nd rounders and Mesar equal a 1st rounder. I then added last years 5th overall pick and a 60 point d man

Matheson isn't a 60-point defenseman, not yet anyways, on a good point pace though. If we use predictions, then he will predict to be a -18 for what it's worth.
Mesar is alright, had a nice juniors, but like you said possibly 2nd line winger prospect. That doesn't hold as much vale as a centre or RD prospect.
That brings me to the RHD prospect, he is going to be good, has really good value and obviously would need to be include for Calgary to consider.
The COL 2nd is going to be late and the PIT one in 2025 will likely be mid.
Do I think Andersson is worth more than that? I think the value is around there. My question was why is Calgary adding a 1st? That 1st, especially if they go as far as trading Andersson, will be worth more than the 2 2nds, Mesar and Matheson put together for them. So basically, its Andersson, who is a stud RHD on a really good contract, for a really good prospect.

Matheson’s career high in points is 34. Yes he has a good PPG this season but he’s not a 60 point dman until he gets 60 points. That’s like if I as a Canucks fan called Teddy Blueger a 50 point center because he has a 50 point pace right now even though his career high is 28 points

@Lancebmx

He's been a near top 60 pt defenceman on a bottom feeding team not being a 60 pt defenceman and having a bad plus/minus stretch in the last 20 games to fit your biased narrative doesn’t dismiss his value completely with your gorilla math

Matheson has 64 points in 90 career MTL games, 233 SOG, 25PPP and only a -2 on a horrific goal differential team playing 25+ mins on average in every situation vs teams top lines and top PK with David Savard. Andersson isnt worth an extra few picks and a really good prospect like Mesar and an A+ prospect like Reinbacher even if you think he's better than Matheson which is debatable. Not even EK65 went for that price to SJS when he was a top3 D.

The guy has a career high 34 points. Yes he should smash that this season of he stays healthy. Also didn't use the last 20 games, used the whole season as a reference for plus/minus. If you want to say he is poised to hit 60 points based on his current stats then that should be good approximate plus/minutes. Tough team to play for for that though, hence why I said take it for what it is worth.
Karlsson trade didn't have a top prospect like Reinbacher, but he went for quite a significant package. One could argue it's more than this but I went get into that. All I'm really saying is there is no reason for Calgary to add a top 10 pick. Especially since there is no reason to trade Andersson.
