Jake to Van

Created by: PensGMwannabe
Team: 2023-24 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 13, 2024
Published: Jan. 13, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Thoughts? I think Garland would be a good meet in the middle. I would think Vancouver would prefer to move Kuzmenko. Pens would prefer to have Hoglander since he's younger and cheaper.

Canucks pass. Neither Lekkerimaki or Willander will be on the table in a Guentzal trade.

Highly doubt they move Garland in season too. He is to valuable to that third line right now.

No chance the Canucks move Lekkerimaki. And I can’t see them moving Garland in season, Kuzmenko or Hoglander are more likely if they move a roster player

I think the best van can offer is either Hoglander + Brustewicz + 1st or Kuzmenko + Brustewicz + 1st.

I don’t think this is as far fetched as others in the comments, I just don’t think Van is willing to part with that many assets for a pending RFA - and I certainly wouldn’t want them to move this much for Guentzel.
Perhaps if a Marcus Pettersson type is included..

I can see Garland getting traded anytime soon.
I don’t see the Canucks trading their prospect players.

I think there is a very good chance a trade resembling this happens. But god I hope it doesn't.

We have no reason right now to even entertain a Jake trade.

Canucks decline. Lekkerimaki is untouchable. Allvin has been working hard to make something out of the barren prospect pool left to him by Benning, no chance he's gonna undo all his work over the past 2 years and trade his top prospect for a rental.
