Offseason

Team: 2024-25 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 14, 2024
Published: Jan. 14, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wouldn’t move Zegras. Would rather him bust than be elite somewhere else if ur the Ducks. Move him to LW full time tho.

Barre Boulet, Zboril and Jost signed as low risk high reward signings. All compete for roster spots in camp against Bortuzzo, Johnston, Zellweger and LaCombe.

Krebs acquired as a rejuvenation project. If he costs anymore than that I wouldn’t do it.

Really prioritized signing veteran blueliners while keeping the forward core young and fast.

Feels like you are forgetting a rather major piece on the roster. Go check the reserve list for any names that stand out.

We can probably eat Campbells contract for two first, but would be sending a player like Stalock the other way. I think Campbell would rebound in a smaller market with less expectation on him. I think we're getting enough of a defense together to to not completely leave him out to dry, or I did until we started the Carolina Florida swing and we're just getting hammered out there. Probably have the cap space to ride out his deal though, Anaheim has shown success rehabbing goalies in the past.

With Gauthier being on the roster, there's no room from Krebs who I think you are paying too much for here. He's stuck on the 4th line and there's really no room above to rebuild his value.

Not sure how we get DeMelonto play first pair at 3.5 if we're paying Schultz 5, but I agree that we're going to need to buy a RHD this off season to play top pair for a while. Would rather keep Zellweger down until his waivers exemption expires, were going to need to start stretching out some of the guys in the AHL until roster spots open above.

Investing what is almost certain to be pick #35 (or better) in the Krebs experiment seems unduly risky to me. (See my esteemed friend @GiggyWithGibby's comment above.) I'd go along with you if it was the Boston second. And I'd offer the Pittsburgh 2024 third instead of the future third. But Vatrano - Krebs - Strome might be an effective third line.

I'm not a Schultz fan, especially if we're able to sign DeMelo.

Buffalo has no reason to sell RFAs for picks

Both players have scouting reports and it's very clear Gibson is very different than Campbell

I’m an oilers fan too, but I can assure you that Gibson is miles better than Campbell. Although, I do agree that with Skinners recent level of play, we shouldn’t do this trade.

Stats for the two goalies:

Jack Campbell:
NHL: 5GP, 4.50GAA, .873SV%
AHL: 12GP, 3.21GAA, .898SV%

John Gibson:
NHL: 26GP, 3.10GAA, .900SV%
AHL: NOTHING!

Sabres aren’t trading Krebs for picks anyways

@BoltsFan9186
What’s your reasoning that they Sabres would do this?
Bc we aren’t looking for futures
