det JUMPS on that. I’d say at the best Perron could get a 2nd rounder + low throw in prospect

Don't think that gets you Lindholm, but this is close to a Stanley Cup winning roster. Bottom 4 d core is kinda sus.

Fair value for Perron. But Perron is a leader on this Red Wings team and as long as they're in the playoff hunt I can't see Yzerman trading him.

Kuzmenko makes $5,500,000 to Perrons $4,750,000 Detroit isn't retaining when Kuzmenko makes more and has a year more of term. I'd gladly take this with no retention on Perron.

We take the offer, But we're not retaining 50% on Perron when Kuzmenko makes $750,000 more for a year longer. It's just Kuzmenko and Perron for full salary.

Ya it would definitely be contingent on them falling out of the hunt. If he's not available I'd pivot to Zucker or Kapanen probably.

Could make the 3rd conditional and becoming a 2025 2nd if the Canucks make the conference finals in 2024. (If that would be enough to push the deal through).

I actually like the bottom 4 d core. They have been steady and it is full of giants lol. There is enough cap space to make a depth addition back there as well though.

Detroit would rather keep Perron and they have no interest in Kuzmenko.
Canucks are not trading their draft picks and Hunter to Calgary for Elias Lindholm.

Perron is an interesting target. Im hoping Van will try to add a forward without moving Kuz. Someone like Sprong or Rasmussen might work within Van's cap.

I feel like Calgary would want a roster player, ie Hoglander.
My issue with the Canucks bottom 4, all of these guys, except Zadorov (who is a fringe #4 guy) are all bottom pairing guys. Cole and Soucy both played third pair roles with Tampa and Seattle, respectively. Myers is a third pair dman on a contending team. Although Zadorov did play top 4 mins last year and this year, he primarily thrived 2 seasons ago when he was on the third pair.
Disclaimer, I don't watch the Canucks, but this is my thoughts from an outside perspective.

Cause Kuzmenko isn't all that great. 5.5M for a 0.5ppg player isn't a deal. Not to mention he is a skilled forward and we already have Kane, Raymond and Debrincat in the top 6. He shot at a ridiculous 27.3% last year and even this year at 14.3% seems high for him. He's not the type of player we need right now. All this deal does is give away Perron, who is now of the type of player we need, add help them with their cap next season. If he was more of a two way player or hit or something then it would be more worth while. This deal makes us worse, hurts our cap next year, makes us softer when we are already the 29th most physical team in the league. So no this isn't a good deal for Detroit, would rather just a second.

Because Kuzmenko makes 5 million and he is not living up to that contract. Yzerman is not wasting 5 mil in cap on a project. If you have seen what he has done in Detroit, he has reclaimed players who have potential on cheap deals not players who make 5 mil and have no played well this year.
