I'm sorry but I don't see how this makes Arizona any better. Just hold onto your kids and develop your way to the playoffs. Take advantage of 1 more year of a good top 10 pick and then aim for a cup in like 4 years

This is horrendous value for the Yotes' young players. No ******* way Domi gets traded for that return. No ******* way Chychrun gets traded for that return.
The Yotes want to go with a tandem of Domingue + Raanta. Adding Varlamov goes directly against what GM Chayka said about the reason for trading Mike Smith (ie. that they didn't want to spend significant budget on goalies so that they could spend the money elsewhere).
This is just bad and shows little familiarity with the Yotes' front office philosophy and value of their young players.
