Edmonton won't be actively trading Drai,

if he leaves, he leaves through FA but it won't be because Edmonton traded him

Even if drai got traded, it would take a way better offer.

Yes the Flyers will need a #1C but this deal stinks. Draistl really good player but 28 YOA and is going to want $11 million. Then taking back Campbell no thanks.

Really? I figure the young franchise goalie, a solid 2C that just seems to be in Torts doghouse but clearly can play at a high level, a 1st, and taking back Campbell's whole contract? I know he is a top 5 player in the league but this opens up so much cap, and he will be a FA after next year, who knows if this trend of 2nd round exits continues if he even resigns.

What would you add on the Flyers side if it's not enough in your opinion?

Taking back campbell is probably going to be a requirement to even propose a trade for him. The cap goes up 4 mil next year and our retentions will be ending after next year, as will our buyouts. Without the Hart extension also, we should have plenty of cap space for Draisaitl. You wouldn't pay a top 5 player in the league that much? He'd be 29 when we acquire him and 30 when the contract would go into effect - he 100% has 4-5 years left at this level you'd think, no? I think it's 100% worth it.

He is still top 5 player in the world, I think Edmonton would ask for Andrae, Brink, or Forester instead of Attard. Just my opinion.

I would be fine with Andrae or Brink, but Foerster would give me a little pause. However, with a chance for a player like him, can you really pass him up? Guy has had 4 seasons putting up at least 105 points, and the one season he didn't reach that he had 84 points in like 55 games. He also had 32 points in 16 playoff games two years ago, and he has proven time and time again he does not rely on McDavid, he is this good on his own. You could almost call him a generational talent in my eyes - he may only be half way done his career and has almost 800 points. He's insane.

I agree, I think the only way they even let him go is if he tells them he's not signing an extension. There will be a bidding war and I am not sure the flyers even have the right peices to pull off a deal of that caliber. Id assume the trade might look something like the Tkachuk trade.
