Allen isn’t going to get us that. Almost no goalie gets traded for this much, definitely not a backup.

There to much good goaltender available right now to get anything near this trade for Allen. Even today Colombus have put Spencer Martin on waiver to send him down and would almost for sure be pick by one the the many team in dire need of goaltender presence.


I would ideally prefer letting Savard one more year with the team to help with the young guys but with the emergence of Struble and with Xhekaj/ Mailloux pair being better and better game after game maybe there spot that would be needed sooner to be made for the young guys.

allen is worth a 3rd... MAYBE a bit more.

Looks like a habs fan made this one up. is Jake Allen much of a upgrade on Pickard? hes worth a 4th,not a 1st, which this deal breaks down too.is Savard much of a upgrade on Ceci,so Lavoie and Ceci for Savard,sure.but the 1st for a backup at best, Allen with a bad contract? come on habs fan. you can get spencer martin on waivers today,and he will give you about the same as Allen.The oil need a goalie to push skinner, not another 2nd or 3rd stringer.
