That’s what I’m talking about. I like it. Put Knies - Thomas - Snuggerud together.

Knies overrated. Blues more need a young perspective defenceman. For 1.5 year 50% retention, not enough.

Knies isn't getting traded. He's already a good NHLer in his rookie season. No chance they are trading him for an older player

Insert any leaf for Knies and this is what you'd say.

My only rebuttal is if they feel they wanna win now. They’d acquire a PPG winger for $2.9M for this year and next year. And if they like Buch, use the Taveres money to resign Buch.

Or pay Knies far less to be as good as Much in a few years. Buch won't be a PPG winger in TO. He'd not get the PP time to score as much. While being a main guy in St Louis, he'd still be secondary in TO.

I'm not saying I'd go for this, but it's certainly a good offer.

Right, so what you're saying is he'll get lesser matchups, but still have good offensive linemates. No clue how he wouldn't be a PPG guy in Toronto, most of his points come 5v5. Hell, this season he has almost as many shorthanded points as he does PP points.

Leafs aren’t trading Knies. He’s exactly the type of player they need up front. Value wise the trade is even but Toronto dosent do it because they don’t have another player like Knies

It’s the ELC of Knies that makes this impossible
for the Leafs to do,those cap savings are more important than Buchnevich sorry

He won't get easier matchups. Likely still be playing with either JT or Matthews but isn't the focal point on those lines. He's not as good as Marner or Nylander. He'll play the grinder role on those lines. That or play on the 3rd line with Domi. Getting his minutes reduced won't help his production. He's a great player no question but he'll be down the depth chart in TO.

Also he isn't a PPG player on a team where he is a top dog.

3rd line??? tears of joy

And he's not top dog in STL. And he's been PPG two seasons in a row. Started slow this season when he was playing hurt at the start. Then got sat briefly to heal up. Has been PPG since returning.

You have trouble understanding words eh? If he's top 6 in TO. He'll be used as a grinder. Get in, get the puck and go to the net. Create space for the stars and 2nd PP time. If he doesn't fit perfect there then he'd be on the 3rd line. I imagine he'd be top 6 though, but as I mentioned extremely clearly already. Just being on the ice with Matthew and Marner doesn't mean you are going to get easy points. Lots of guys have had time there and not produced all that much. Mainly because the other two guys have the puck. Same with Nylander's line. Buch would be a secondary player in TO. He's not getting the opportunities in TO that he does in St Louis and isn't going to score at a PPG pace with zero PP opportunities. And he's more expensive while Knies has all the tools to be a high value power forward for years. TO isn't trading him. For anyone at this point

Not only is it not my trade, but I also didn't say I wanted to do it. You enjoy your logic circles, they're making me dizzy.

Walking it back as usual eh? We all know your game. Any trade involving St Louis and you are up in arms blasting off like an angry toddler and when your words are picked apart for being silly, which is what happened this time, you get mad and pretend the other people are the ones talking in circles. I said the same thing twice and it's somehow talking in circle. Parallel lines are not circles. Of course you know this but are too proud and fragile to admit it.

tears of joy

My initial comment here was "I'm not saying I'd go for this, but it's certainly a good offer."

In what world does that qualify as getting mad and blasting like an angry toddler? And any six year old doofus could tell you that going from facing top lines to playing on the 2nd or 3rd line means easier matchups.

But hey, you just keep flailing wildly and accusing others of freaking out/not understanding simple concepts. It's hilarious.

Heh. Apparently, existing in reality and saying factual things anyone can see for themselves by scrolling up = "backtracking" now.
